Race Across Europe: Two Weeks Down

25 January 2021

As we welcome week three in our school’s Race Across Europe, we can’t help but feel proud of the whole OHS community, as students and staff continue to clock up the kilometres in a bid to take their team to the finish line.

Launched by our PE Department to encourage physical activity during lockdown, the initiative sees four teams (Prep, KS3, KS4/5 and staff) ‘race’ across Europe by accruing and logging as many kilometres of walking, running and cycling as possible. Total distances are calculated on a weekly basis and plotted against the designated route, which starts at our beloved school and finishes at Olympia, Greece.

As the competition currently stands, we can confirm that KS3 is the team to beat, having clocked up 3152km at the last count. Close behind is the staff team in second place, the Prep team in third place and the KS4/5 team in fourth place. However, all is still to play for in the challenge, and we’re looking forward to seeing how the race progresses over the coming weeks.

To everyone who has already taken part, well done and keep going!
