Stories from The Grimm Tales by Philip Pullman

The dark and tragic stories of The Grimm Tales were brought to dramatic life by performances from our Year 8 and Year 9 pupils, with on stage support and crew from our Year 7s. Whilst we may call them fairy tales, these folklore stories are far from comforting bedtime reading and our ensemble cast harnessed the dark energy of these creative stories to give fantastic performances full of imagination, energy and creativity. Nearly 40 pupils came to life under costume, make up, stage lights and music to tell the childhood stories of Little Red Riding Hood and other Grimm Tales.

As always it takes a cast of characters in support of the actors to stage a show and our junior crew were involved in stage stunts, prop management, costume and make-up for the first time. Over 20 pupils made up the support team from Years 7, and 10-13, and we’d like to highlight a directorial credit to Grace in our 6th Form.

Director of the play, Mr Pelling said:

“It has been a pleasure working with this dedicated company over the last month, and a joy to watch them grow in confidence…all the best bits are entirely their ideas!”
