On 3rd October 2019, the 1st XI hockey team travelled to Hampshire to play in the regional round of the GDST hockey rally against South Hampstead 1st XI.
The team made an excellent start scoring within the first five minutes of the match, with Cora opening on the score sheet. Oxford had some excellent play down the right-hand side of the pitch, leading to a great shot by Olivia unfortunately rebounding off the post. Oxford continued their pressure and by half time were 5-0 up over South Hampstead.
In the second half, South Hampstead stepped it up and had a few break-away attacks, dealt with excellently by our defenders and goal keeper, Mille. Oxford won several short corners in the second-half, converting two on the far-post and near-post. South Hampstead fought to the end, but this excellent performance from OHS sealed the victory. The score ended at 11-0 with 5 goals from player of the match Cora, a hat-trick from Jasmine and one goal apiece from Alice, Sophia and Bea.
