Written by Anjali, Year 7
On Thursday 10th November, with the last bits of autumnal sun cheering our mood, the Year 7 netball A team excelled, finishing 5th place out of over 20 schools.
After being stuck for four long hours on our coach, in gruelling traffic jams, we arrived at Croydon High School where the tournament took place. The school grounds were picturesque; we were surrounded by lush green rolling hills and stretches of wonderful woodland.
Impressed by our surroundings, we went immediately into our first match and began our day with a cracking win. We went on to complete a further 7 games and we experienced highs and lows/ some substantial wins and a couple of losses. We faced some tough opponents but we demonstrated solidarity, determination and terrific teamwork.
On the journey home, tired and content, we felt proud of the position we had come in. Even so, next time, we are focused on achieving 1st place!
