I live 26 miles away from my school, so when the London Marathon was cancelled and The 2.6 Challenge for charity took its place instead, we thought it was time to walk to school.
During half-term, my Dad and I left our house at 9 am and we arrived at the gates of my school at 7 pm later that day. We were so tired!
We were also very proud because we had done it to raise money for a charity named EDSA. They work to give children in South Africa better educational facilities.
I accomplished two things that day: I helped to give less fortunate children a better education and also I can now say I have walked to school!
“Sophie is very proud to have walked 26 miles in one day, especially when it was so hot. She certainly had to dig into her resources of determination to finish her challenge! She is also very pleased to have raised over £750 for our chosen charity, EDSA. They are a small Oxford-based charity who support educational projects in South Africa.” – Sophie’s Father
