Sixth Formers from Oxford High School planned, organised and managed their very own Green Festival – Greenfest. In a packed Hall, local Oxford companies and ‘green’ organisations, parents and girls from both Junior and Senior sites turned out to support this not-for-profit event. A great example of leadership from our Sixth Form leaders. The Fair included:
• Organic cake stalls made by staff and pupils
• Seed planting from the Oxford High Ecology Club
• Swishing (clothes and accessories swap) run by the Sixth Form
• Book swap – run by pupils
• Vegan stall – run by pupils
• Young Enterprise companies from the school
• Lush – selling their all-natural handmade cosmetics
• Cultivate – selling organic fruit and vegetables
• Dockwoods – selling cheeses and artisan condiments made from 100% natural ingredients
• Earthwatch – based in Summertown
There was musical entertainment provided by pupils and staff alike, ranging from an in-school ukulele band, to students singing their original songs. There was also a special preview of ‘The Doomed’ by the Furrowed Brow Theatre Company. This is a group of Sixth Form students who have written their own play and will be performing it at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in the summer.
