It’s no small thing to put on a play in these difficult times, and yet OHS students always excel whatever the challenges may be. On the first day back of this half-term, the Lower School Studio presented their much-anticipated production of Dominic Cooke’s Arabian Nights.
In the opening lines of the play, we hear of two young women, one ‘kind, loyal and true’, the other ‘courageous, shrewd and bright, well beyond her years’: it’s as if when writing these lines, Dominic Cooke could look into the future and see our company of Year 8 and Year 9 working together to put on this exciting show.
We are always amazed with how the Lower School Company manages to come together in a few short weeks of rehearsal. Even with the hurdle of having to transfer to a new venue and put on ‘a play in a day’, they took it in their stride, delivered a magnificent show and, most importantly, thoroughly enjoyed themselves through it all.
Many congratulations and a huge round of applause to all cast and crew, students and staff, who have worked above and beyond to share with us this spectacular performance for all to enjoy. Bravo!
