What You Will (loosely based on Twelfth Night) by Ian Murchie
With the help of Mr Murchie as writer, producer and director, the Year 5 girls gave a superb performance of What You Will and totally engaged the audience. They showed their understanding of stage direction by following cues and creating stage presence as well as delivering their lines clearly using appropriate intonation and timing. Two full days were spent learning lines and stage directions before using the morning of third day to perfect vocal techniques, stage presence and to build confidence. They performed without the use of props or costumes and instead used coloured tabards (and the odd hat) to indicate characters. During the afternoon on the third day they performed twice: a dress rehearsal to the school before the main performance to parents – true professionals!
