Year 4 enjoyed a fabulous concert performed by the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra at Symphony Hall on 4th February.
A large orchestra including six double basses and two sets of kettle drums played excerpts from a variety of pieces, including The Avengers (Silvestri), Berlioz Symphonie Fantastique and a more gentle Cantus in memory of Benjamin Britten (Pärt). We were encouraged to ‘Feel the Music’, considering how music effects our emotions and reflect on the fact there are very few places nowadays where one can truly ‘just be’…..without distractions.
