What Next After OHS?

19 November 2020

The final year of A Levels is one filled with great contemplation as students send off their university applications and further explore the future ahead of them.

Today, we (virtually) welcomed back OHS alumna Joana Baptista who presented a lively and informative webinar to our Year 13s about life after A Levels, as part of their Perspectives programme.

Joana left OHS in 2019 and is now reading Economics and Management at St Hilda’s College, Oxford. On top of being a full-time student, she is a successful entrepreneur with 3 start-ups and an international social enterprise!

Reminiscing about her time at OHS (with stories our Year 13s can relate to, no doubt!),  Joana shared practical tips, advice, and words of encouragement – from how to deal with stress to adapting to a mixed-gender academic environment. Throughout, she echoed the GDST’s message of inspiring girls to chase their dreams, study the subjects they want, and seize opportunities (which is how she landed her first TED Talk!).

Thank you Joana for this wonderful webinar, and we look forward to your future endeavours.
