“The more you read, the more things you know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go.”
This is a famous quote by Dr Seuss. And it’s 100% accurate. Reading is fundamental in helping us find and convey information. It is an essential skill that we develop at a very young age and it lasts for a lifetime.
That’s why our fantastic Librarian, Ms Jelaca, has put together summer reading lists for Years 7-11 containing a variety of genres, including fiction, plays, poetry, geography & history, and much more.
Whilst reading is undoubtedly its own reward, who can resist a friendly reading challenge to provide a little extra motivation?
How to enter
To take part, you need to read 4 books from your year group’s list (see below) by the end of the summer holiday. You will receive 5 House points for every 4 books read. However, you MUST read from 3 different genres and 1 must be a classics genre. You will also have to write a 50 – 100 word review for each book that you have read and submit it to Ms Jelaca via Library Google Classroom.
Happy reading!
