It has been a very busy few weeks for Sport here at OHS and we’ve seen some truly fantastic results from our students in various cups and competitions. We’re delighted, here, to share some of the highlights with you!
On Tuesday, we took part in the first round of the U18 ISFA (Independent Schools Football Association) National Cup, competing against Bradfield College. Securing a 2-0 victory, the team will now progress to the next round of the competition. Our U15 team enjoyed similar success in the ISFA National Cup, going up against Headington in the first round and coming away with a 9-3 victory. Good luck to both teams as they progress to the next round!
Yesterday, many of our students participated in the GDST Rally and we’re proud of how they performed. Our U12 (Y7) Netball Team finished 5th out of the 25 GDST schools, winning 8 games, drawing 1 and losing 1. The team narrowly missed out on the semi finals on goal difference but secured our highest finish in this particular area for a long time. Well done team!
Furthermore, our U15 Hockey Team came first out of the whole GDST. The standard of hockey on display was exceptionally high and the games were nail-bitingly close; the team won their semi-final on penalties and then proceeded to win the final 1-0. Huge congratulations the team!
Well done to all of our students involved in these successes, and massive thanks go to our PE Department for all of their support and encouragement. Bravo!
