Preparing for Life at University Programme

12 November 2021

As part of their Preparing for Life at University Programme, our Year 13 students have been attending sessions in order to learn a variety of useful skills, such as cookery, DIY and self-defence.

In their cookery lessons, students have been making a variety of delicious dishes such as risotto and baked apples with raisins (and, as an added bonus, they have then been able to eat their hard-earned creations!).

In DIY, students have been learning about the responsibility that comes with renting student accommodation, how to maintain household devices, and what to do when things go wrong!

Self-defence proved to be very active with Year 13 learning simple yet effective ways of protecting themselves in dangerous situations.

We hope the students have been enjoying the programme and thanks go to all of our staff who have been involved with organising and running the sessions, including Miss Pallas Brown, Mrs Chipchase, Mrs Liebrecht and Mr Appleby.
