Volunteering has always been something our students are passionate about. Their natural can-do attitude and strong sense of compassion can be seen in the myriad ways OHS girls give their time to a range of causes and organisations.
At this particular moment, girls have been going above and beyond to support the children of key workers.
“I’ve been finding it really rewarding volunteering with Year 2 children of key workers, from helping with tricky bits of work to getting creative with options for ‘Forest school’!” – Elsa (Year, 13)
Elsa, Year 13, noted how much she enjoyed working with children around 7 years old, citing their intelligence, humour, and refreshing enthusiasm.
The note below, written by one of Elsa’s young students, shows just how much Elsa’s help meant to her. Translated from the German it reads, “Elsa, you are nice and friendly”. We couldn’t agree more.
