Letters With Kindness

21 May 2020

When life as we know it is turned upside down, we’re reminded of the power simple acts of kindness have to raise our spirits.

It was fitting then that kindness was the central theme of this year’s Mental Health Awareness Week. As you’d expect, OHS students of all ages responded with a range of thoughtful and creative activities.

Our Year 7s were an example to us all when they took the time to write beautiful, handwritten letters to residents at local care homes.

While many of us turn to technology to stay in touch, it’s important to remember not everyone feels comfortable doing so. In this instance, by putting pen to paper, students were able to connect with some of society’s most vulnerable and isolated members.

We’re incredibly proud of the girls who took part in this initiative – long may it continue.
