The GDST has been working with the RAP Project (Raising Awareness and Prevention) during this time of Guided Home Learning.
The RAP Project team have presented at hundreds of UK and international schools, including many of the schools in the GDST. Their aim is to raise awareness about personal safety, while openly discussing how pornography and social media influence attitudes and expectations. They also address how the media can negatively affect body image and self-esteem.
We would like to invite you to Digital Natives: A Parents’ Guide, a free online presentation by the RAP Project, on 30th June at 6pm.
The RAP Project was founded by former US prosecutor Deana Puccio and journalist Allison Havey. They have presented at hundreds of schools across the UK and internationally, including many in the GDST family.
As part of the Guided Home Learning programme, The RAP Project has recorded a Digital Natives presentation for our Year 7 and 8 students, to help them to stay safe and informed during this ongoing period of online and blended learning. The presentation for parents complements what your child will be covering in her Guided Home Learning sessions, and will, we hope, help facilitate family discussion around a healthy approach to time spent online.
If you would like to attend, please click here to book your tickets to the event. We do hope you will be able to join us.
