What a firecracker of an assembly we had this morning! Our Sixth Form students and staff gathered in the Hall to celebrate and thank our outgoing prefect team as well as to welcome our wonderful incoming team.
As per OHS tradition, each outgoing prefect entered the hall individually to the thunderous applause of their peers, before collecting a prefect badge and taking a seat. We then welcomed our incoming prefects, each of whom signed their name in our prefect record book and sat alongside her predecessors. In a ritual representing the transfer of leadership from old to new, each incoming prefect was presented with their badge by one of the outgoing prefects.
Quirky OHS traditions, fancy dress outfits, childhood photos, Disney music, and a smile on every face in the room – what more could one want?
Above all, this was an opportunity to thank our outgoing prefect team, and there simply aren’t enough words to pay tribute to this remarkable group of students. They have been exceptional representatives for our school and have approached their duties with enthusiasm, imagination and dedication, as well as with an unwavering spirit of fun and humour. Thank you Lizzie, Amy, Eleanor, Alina, Aisling, Alice, Anna, Izzy, Leila, Lili, Mika and Shreya. You have done your school proud!
Thankfully, their roles and responsibilities are being passed into the safe hands of our incoming team and we have no doubt that they will do a fantastic job leading the school over the next year. Many congratulations to Katherine (Head Girl), Lucy (Deputy Head Girl), Jess (Chair of Student Council), Tia (GDST Student Council Rep), Michaela, Bella, Georgia, Eunsong, Annabel, Bobby, Olivia and India. We can’t wait to see what the next year holds as you take the reins of leadership and make the roles your own.
