At Oxford High, we’re always looking for ways to give back, whether through school initiatives to raise money for charity or volunteering in the local community.
As we approach half term, we’re delighted to be able to share the following words from our Charity Prefects for the 2020-21 academic year, Prashanti and Flora:
Giving back to the community in any way is at the heart of what we aim to achieve as the Charity Prefects. We are driven to try and fundraise as much as possible and are currently in the process of constructing creative ways to bring the OHS family together and support charities safely, given the current pandemic that we’re living through! Having already hosted the first mufti of this year in support of Smile Train, helping to provide corrective surgery for children born with cleft lips and palettes, we are delighted to have raised £459.83. We want to thank everyone who donated and are determined that future endeavours will be even more successful.
As well as the mufti day, our Year 11s recently had a ‘red accessory day’ in aid of the Red Cross Beirut appeal. As well as raising money for an excellent and worthwhile cause, the girls certainly brightened up a grey day with their colourful items.
