As we know, in any normal summer term, GCSE and A Level exams would now be in full swing. This year, however, instead of focusing on their public exams, our Year 11 and 13 students are preparing for the next stages of their education in different ways.
For Year 13, each department has devised an exciting, bespoke programme for students who will be going to study their subject at university. As well as investigating some fascinating topics, including everything from Aesthetics in Philosophy, Milton and the Metaphysicals in English, to Thermodynamics in Physical Chemistry, Year 13s have also enjoyed a series of bespoke courses on leadership, entrepreneurship, and design thinking, devised by colleagues within the Innovation and Learning Team at the GDST.
Similarly, Year 11 students have embarked on pre-A level work in their chosen subjects, having completed a two-week Starting Sixth Form course exploring how to make the most of all aspects of Sixth Form study, life, and opportunities, over the next two years.
