On 21st February, Oxford High Prep celebrated International Mother Language Day, showcasing our students’ rich cultural heritage. Dressed in traditional attire, they embarked on a journey of linguistic discovery, learning greetings in various languages and sharing cultural experiences. Highlights included a door decoration competition, with Year 3 to Year 6 students creatively expressing chosen country themes through art and language.
Mrs Williams had the very difficult task of choosing a winning doorframe from amongst the Prep classes, but she finally settled on 6P who celebrated Brazil with an eclectic and impressive mix of language phrases, 3D artwork and cultural items. Well done, 6P! Many of the doorframes had been decorated by the pupils themselves without any input from the class teachers. This day was a testament to our community’s diversity and unity.
