Since the beginning of term, our Year 7-9 girls have enjoyed three ‘Hit the Wall’ afternoons, with two more scheduled for the run-up to February half term. With a focus on wellbeing and positivity, the weekly sessions encourage our younger girls to step away from the screen and try something different.
Each session has a theme related to wellbeing, with last week’s being ‘Connect’. With the increased isolation lockdown brings, it is more important than ever to stay connected with those around us. Lots of activity ideas were shared in the weekly year group assemblies, including phoning friends and family, playing games (the non-computer type) with younger siblings, writing letters, and sharing book reviews with others. One group of girls even used the time to write and rehearse their radio play for the Lockdown Radio Play Competition. Students are also encouraged to look at our Wellbeing Wall for inspiration!
This week, students were present in the moment and ‘taking notice’ of the world around them by taking pictures of the wildlife in their gardens, going for an artistic walk or perfecting their penny skateboarding skills.
We can’t wait to see what the next two Hit the Wall sessions have in store!
