Today we celebrated our 147th birthday here at OHS!
The day kicked off with a whole-school assembly, where Mrs Gardiner Legge talked about the history of women’s rights and education, alongside our own history. The Head talked about Ada Benson, the school’s founder, and her mental health struggles while dedicating herself to women’s access to education. For anyone interested in the full history of OHS, take a look at the Our History page.
As per tradition, we marked the occasion with a birthday cake provided by our brilliant school catering. The candles were snuffed out by our Head Girl (Katherine) and the cake cut by our youngest Senior School pupil (Nala).
Ad Lucem!
