Last Wednesday, 3rd November was a very special day here at Oxford High School as we celebrated our 146th birthday.
The day began with a whole-school assembly led by Mrs Gardiner Legge in which she spoke about the history of women’s education before moving on to talk specifically about OHS and its journey over the last century and a half, from a school of 29 students to one of over 800. As is customary, we marked the occasion with a spectacular birthday cake, which was lit by our youngest Senior School pupil (Eleonora) and cut by our Head Girl (Lizzie).
We are delighted to have been educating curious and passionate young women for 146 years – long may it continue!

Happy Birthday OHS!
