We are pleased to announce the appointment of Dr Helen Stringer as Interim Head of Oxford High School for one year from this September.
Dr Stringer has had a long and distinguished career in education. She is currently Head of Northampton High School GDST, where she has been for the past four years. Prior to Northampton High, Dr Stringer was Vice-Principal (Curriculum) at The Stephen Perse Foundation (formerly Perse School for Girls) in Cambridge. Before joining The Stephen Perse Foundation, she taught in a number of highly prestigious independent schools, including James Allen’s Girls’ School, Leicester Grammar School, and was Head of History & Politics and Co-ordinator of Additional Learning at Channing School in Highgate. Dr Stringer studied History at Bristol University, following this with an MA and then a doctorate from the University of Sussex.
Dr Stringer is very much looking forward to working with the staff and girls of Oxford High to ensure that the school continues to thrive. She will be supported in this work by our current Senior Leadership Team – Dr Secker, Ms Nebesnuick, Miss Pallas-Brown, Mr Nicholl, and Mrs Williams in the Prep School – and we look forward to welcoming her to the school, and to Oxford, this September.
Over the coming year, the School’s Governing Board, the GDST and its trustees will also be making the necessary arrangements to appoint a new leader for Oxford High School.
