Happy Ada Lovelace Day! Today, we celebrate inspirational women in science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM). It is a day to share stories of women — whether engineers, scientists, technologists or mathematicians — who have inspired you to become who you are today and to inspire you to become role models for younger girls. See how far we have come from those early Oxford High School science lessons! This didn’t deter those pioneering alumnae though. Far from it. Our alumnae include Dame Josephine Barnes (1912-1999) the first woman President British Medical Association (BMA) and of the present day Dame Frances Kirwan who opened our recent GDST Junior Mathematics Conference.
