In some incredible individual news, Cecily, OHS’s U16 football team captain, was selected to play for the England U16 football team against Wales on Tuesday 8th November. This was her first cap for England, and we are extremely proud of her and all her hard work and dedication to the sport to make her dreams come true. Here is to many more caps!
Cecily joined OHS in Year 7. Her flair on the pitch was very evident from the start, as a central midfielder or central defender. In the same year, she was selected for Oxford United Football Club. She now plays in their U16 team.
Last year, she captained the school team to win the ISFA (Independent School Football Association) National Cup (U15 squad). Recently, she has been selected for the next England training camp on 2-5 December 2022.
“Cecily is credit to herself and the school. She is a hardworking and determined person. I’m not surprised she has achieved as much as she has on the football pitch, given how hard she works in honing her craft.”
