There is a real buzz in the air as we count down the days until our 2021 Careers Event for Years 9-13, taking place next Thursday, 21st January. Entitled ‘Set Sail for your Future: Opportunities & Taking the Lead’, the event will provide an invaluable opportunity for our girls to learn about different professions and consider their future career paths. Aside from acquiring useful knowledge and information, we want our students to leave the event brimming with inspiration and feeling empowered about their future.
With 37 speakers split across 8 panels, the event will represent a broad range of industries, including consulting, business, entrepreneurship, physics, materials, engineering, humanities, languages, and cyber security. Excitingly, we have one all-female panel from the Jenner Institute, featuring members of the Oxford Vaccine Team.
In order to build excitement around the event, this week we have been delighted to share two video addresses with our girls. The first address was from Jacinda Ardern, in which she talked about leadership, and the second was from Professor Sarah Gilbert (Head of the Oxford Vaccine Team), in which she urges the girls to pursue their dreams.
We hope you will join us next Thursday for an evening that promises to be both inspiring and thought-provoking. The event will kick off at 6pm, with a welcome from our Headmistress, Mrs Gardiner Legge. We can’t wait to see you there!
