When it comes to thinking about the future, we encourage each and every student to consider the path that is right for them. Our Careers Department offers specialist advice to help students make informed decisions about their future studies or professional life.
Higher Education and Careers Evening – Thursday 2 February 2023 – 18:00-20:30
Our annual Higher Education and Careers evening brings together alumnae, parents and university representatives. This year’s event welcomes an array of guests who specialise in topics from the Music and Theatre industry to careers in Medicine and Biomedical Sciences. There’s something for every interest and skill.
At the event, students will get the opportunity to meet university and study abroad representatives, explore future careers and build specialist networks ahead of their career.
The next event takes place on Thursday 2nd February 2023 and welcomes students from Years 10-13. Parents and Guardians are also welcome to attend, but we request that you use this form to register your attendance. Please register here.
Next Steps Support
OHS students are highly regarded by universities and are enormously successful in achieving offers from higher education providers around the world, including leading institutions for art, music and the performing arts.
Of course, it’s never just about Oxbridge. When advising our students about next steps, the key message is that it’s the right match for the individual, whether that’s a conservatoire, a place on a highly competitive Art Foundation course, or a sought-after apprenticeship at a leading company. We know our students well, and place a lot of emphasis on bespoke mentoring conversations between students and their tutors alongside support from Dr Ord, our Head of Careers, and Director of Sixth Form, Miss Pallas-Brown.
Thanks to our innovative Sixth Form Programme, we are able to ensure that all our students are not only equipped with the qualifications they need to gain entry to leading institutions, but also the understanding, agile-thinking, self-awareness, leadership and confidence to thrive beyond their time at OHS.
