In honour of the GDST’s 150th birthday, we were invited to attend an evening of celebration in London, recognising those who help and inspire us to use our GDST education to make a positive difference.
The event was attended by over 300 guests with whom we conversed, sharing our aspirations for the future. We were fascinated by the accomplishments of the 13 finalists of the ‘Alumnae of the Year’ and ‘Trailblazer’ awards. Throughout the evening, dynamic speakers portrayed their perspectives on how impactful a GDST education had been, in shaping their future.
When unexpectedly questioned by an intrigued taxi driver, Mrs Gardiner Legge emphasised the importance of no gender stereotypes in academic subjects. This was most certainly a memorable moment!
