Written by Lirit, Year 11
With mock exams happening, Year 11 have tried to maintain a healthy balance between work and keeping up non-work related activities.
Mr Pelling has been the one keeping up the spirits amongst the year group, so on behalf of Year 11, a huge thank you goes out to him!
He organised the activities for Kaleidoscope day (13th October), including drama, a percussion workshop, singing and dancing. Everyone who attended enjoyed themselves, and even those that thought that it was not for them, got involved in the end!
Mr Pelling also introduced small challenges in form time to lighten the tension caused by exams, which brought out each form’s competitiveness.
We have also had many house events (such as tug-of-war, canvas, chess, among many more), which have been enjoyed by students of all years, as well as staff.
All these light-hearted activities doesn’t mean that there wasn’t studying going on. A good example of a shift from Year 10 to Year 11 in study habits is before registration, where students study for upcoming tests.
With that in mind, I recommend that younger years take advantage of their smaller workload, whilst making sure they are on top of it!
