Over the last few weeks, the Year 8 students studying French have all been taking part in a spelling bee – and this week saw the occurrence of the Grand Final!
With one minute to spell a maximum number of words (including all relevant accents, dashes and spaces), the students excelled despite being confronted with some fiendishly tricky spellings. This year nine students made it through to the final, held in the lecture theatre. With an excellent score of sixteen words spelt correctly, Sidra (8O) won the competition. Angela (also 8O) came a close second with fifteen words, while Voula and Hannah were joint third with fourteen correctly spelled words. Well done to all the girls and especially our finalists!
