Over the last few weeks, Year 8 students studying French have been taking part in a spelling bee. With one minute to spell a maximum number of words (with accents, dashes, spaces and all), the students performed fantastically well, and eleven went through to the final round on Friday 20th November.
With an excellent score of 18 words spelt correctly, Tashika (8H) won the competition and claimed the prize of the beautiful Le Petit Prince book and mug, as well as chocolate. In close second was Isabella (8O) with 17 words, followed by Esmé and Alison (both 8G) in joint third with 16 words. The second and third place prizes were Le Petit Prince mugs and chocolate.
Well done to all the Year 8s for participating and congratulations to the finalists.
