We had a short but lovely concert by members of Year 8 in the Music Hall on Wednesday, with the music all featuring clarinet and piano.
The clarinettists performed a series of short pieces by local composer Paul Harris on the theme of Safari, and the audience then had to guess which animal was being described. On the piano we heard a piece by English composer Thomas Attwood, performed by Hiruki, then a sonata by Attwood’s more famous teacher, Mozart, performed by Chelsea. Our other Chelsea then performed a Mazurka by Chopin, and we finished with Duke Ellington’s In a Sentimental Mood performed on the clarinet by Julia.
What a wonderful afternoon spent listening to our remarkable musicians – well done to the Year 8s who performed!
