Year 6 visited Lacock Abbey as part of their topic ‘The Moving Image’. The Abbey was the family home of William Henry Fox Talbot,a pioneer of photography; it offered the girls the opportunity to reflect on what daily life would have been like during his life and to think about the origins of the abbey and its beautiful cloisters. In the museum they were able to link their classroom studies to the exhibits on display, learning more about the history of photography and experiencing a real camera obscura.
