Year 5 residential to PGL – Osmington Bay, Weymouth
To those of us who had been anxiously following the long term weather forecast, the steady rainfall on the morning of Tuesday 9th May should not have come as any surprise. However, this did not dampen the excitement of the girls in Year 5 who had been packed and ready for their PGL adventure for some weeks. From the moment we set foot on the bus, they were enthusiastic, if a little apprehensive; eager to take part in everything PGL had to offer. As Elyssa so eloquently put it, “We were all buzzing!”
During the three days at Osmington Bay, we took part in a wide variety of activities, which included raft building in Portland, quad biking, abseiling, street surfing, wall climbing and, of course, being hoisted up on the infamous giant swing. Fears were conquered, new skills discovered and friendships built. Thanks to the support and encouragement of the extraordinarily cheerful PGL staff (even in the wettest of downpours!), everyone had the most wonderful time and was sorry to leave on Friday. Once again, we had an ‘epic time’ (according to Helena and echoed by her fifty six peers), and are very much looking forward to repeating the experience in Year 6.
