As per usual, we need no excuse here to celebrate and get dressed up so World Book Day pours nicely into our cup of tea.
The girls put so much effort in with the [albeit vague in some areas] Villains and Fairies theme. However, the day isn’t TOTALLY about dressing up. We had a fantastic assembly and multiple workshops with the wonderful Anna Kemp (famous for the classic Dogs Don’t Do Ballet).
We discussed our World Book Day characters as well as incorporating the themes into our lessons. How does one relate to Cruella De Ville…? Profound topics ensued.
Students also received their World Book Day token, which could be exchanged for a special £1 book or used as a discount on another title at bookshops across the country.
HUGE thanks to all of the girls and staff who dressed up – ‘Literacy’ the best day of the year so far…
