The Perfect Summer for Indoor Cricket?

21 August 2019

Perhaps it was the terrible weather out of doors or perhaps it was pure skill, but, whatever the reason, our U13 Indoor Cricket team has had an astonishing season this year.

Since March the team, captained by Ellie and Sana (both Year 8), succeeded in winning first the County Championships and then the Regional Championships, both of which were held at Edgbaston. These victories earned the girls the rare privilege of competing in the National Championships at Lord’s, the home of cricket. Here their incredible journey culminated in a fantastic day of cricket which saw them end fourth out of 872 schools across the country – an amazing achievement for which the whole team as well as their coaches, Mr Gilbert and Miss Flory, should be congratulated. These pictures capture some of the action on that memorable day.
