Staff Talent Show

17 March 2022

Written by Annabelle and Michaela (Year 12)

On the 15th of March, S7 held a charity event, a Staff Talent Show, in support of the Archway Foundation, a local charity supporting those affected by loneliness.

As a form, we thought during the pandemic the mental health issues due to isolation increased drastically, so we decided to support a charity to help those suffering from this. We were thrilled at the number of staff who came to perform and appreciate all of their hard work leading up to the event. Our amazing panel of judges were marking each performance on creativity, enthusiasm and skill. Their scores alongside the student body vote will be added together to determine the winner, which will be announced in the presentation assembly at the end of term. Noticeable performances came from Staff Choir for their unbelievable rendition of ‘Walking on Sunshine’ and Mrs Phipps and Mr Lonsdale’s amazing cover of ‘Don’t Go Breaking My Heart’.

We would like to say a big thank you to our form tutors Mr Huggins and Mrs Westwood and to Ms Nebesnuick and Mr Hay for all their support. Our thanks also goes out to all the students who came to watch, our panel of judges composed of Mr Sobey, Ms Clark, Mrs Brazel and Mr Watts and Hannah for running and conducting the Staff Choir.
