The sun was shining and all the brightly coloured house t-shirts lit up the Senior School field for our fantastic Prep Sports Day. It was a day of competition, participation and determination. The girls were supportive and empathetic towards their peers, and there was a real sense of belonging as everyone dug deep to do their very best for their house.
Pre-Prep were up first with lots of house points to be won. With everyone winning points in every event it was a close contest but Unicorn came out on top.
Year 3 and Year 4 then got a little more serious, with the potential to break records, and extra points for placing in events. Another tight battle, this time Wyvern were the winners.
And the grand finale – Y5 and Y6. An individual competition as well as a house competition, and medals up for grabs as well as records. And it was Wyvern who stole the show.
All in all, 7 longstanding Athletics were broken this year across the range of Y3-Y6 events (sprinting, hurdles, distance, throw, long jump, high jump and relay). The event was all inclusive and everyone, girls and staff played their part in a very enjoyable celebration of sport.
