At Oxford High, our PSHCE curriculum is designed to be gritty, real, and relevant to all students. We tackle real-life situations and challenges – both those they face today and those they may encounter in the future – ensuring they leave school #LifeReady.

Our approach is age-appropriate, proactive and responsive, evolving to meet the current needs of our students. We draw on national and local trends, as well as student and community feedback, to keep our curriculum relevant and impactful for everyone.

A Thoughtfully Designed Curriculum

Led by our Head of PSHCE and Wellbeing, our programme builds on the foundation laid in Senior School, covering three key strands:

  • Living in the wider world
  • Relationships and sex education (RSE)
  • Health and wellbeing

Each lesson is carefully structured, often featuring expert speakers who offer valuable insights and inspiration. We also collaborate with local services and charities, helping students connect with real-world support networks as they prepare for their next steps.

What Our Weekly Lessons Offer

✔ Open and honest discussions on topics that matter – now and in the future.
✔ Awareness of key issues that may impact students or those around them.
✔ A safe environment to explore opinions, ask questions, and engage in meaningful dialogue.
✔ Access to trusted sources for further information beyond the classroom.

Through this dynamic and engaging curriculum, we empower our students with the knowledge, confidence and resilience they need to navigate the world beyond school. Read more about how we prepare students to be #LifeReady in our brochure below.
