Today, the French Department organised a “French Study Day” outing at the Alliance Française of Oxford for their Year 12 and Year 13 French students.
The girls had a French cinema workshop in the morning and the afternoon was dedicated to theatre and speaking skills. To maintain the French flavour of the day, tables were booked for lunch at the Old Bookbinders restaurant where the waiting staff were also French. It was a fantastic way of learning about French culture and practising the language in real life situations.
“I had a great time!! The teachers at the Alliance Française were super friendly and kind. The workshops were really interactive and fun, accompanied by a delicious lunch. :)”
Ronnie (Year 12)
“It was a great opportunity to learn some French in an informal and relaxed context alongside some delicious food. Thank you very much to Mr Couliou and Mlle Hilary for organising such a fun day!”
Amy (Year 13)
“It was great to be immersed in French speaking and culture for the whole day, and to discover a community very close to school which offers events like literature groups and promotes an exploration of francophone cultures.”
Alice (Year 12)
“I thoroughly enjoyed our French outing! The food was fabulous, and the workshops at the Alliance Française were very engaging, interactive and allowed us to practice both our French and our acting skills.”
