Year 6’s day at The Ashmolean Museum was an enriching experience, bringing the ancient world to life for the students. They delved into the Shang Dynasty, exploring life along the Yellow River, the use of oracle bones and the evolution of Chinese characters. The Coromandel screens provided a window into the global trade of Chinese objects, and learning a traditional Chinese song was a particular highlight. Handling original artefacts allowed students to appreciate ancient Chinese craftsmanship up close. Overall, this visit reinforced the value of interactive learning in broadening our understanding of world cultures.
