Science club visit the Big Bang Science Day

18 January 2016

Ten members of Science Club spent the day at the Big Bang Science Day at the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory led by Mrs Whittington from the Science Department. In the morning we toured the ISIS neutron accelerator, grew beautiful crystals, played with sound frequencies and light wavelengths, and simulated crater formation. In the afternoon we marvelled during a brilliant show about the uses of liquid nitrogen, and then voted for our favourite scientist in ‘STEM’s got Talent’ (Scott the electrical engineer!). A fabulous day, well done girls for getting so involved in all the amazing activities open for us to try!
