It was wonderful to be joined in school by Dr Rachel Besser, Consultant and Research Lead in Paediatric Diabetes, who spoke to Year 13 about the impact of diabetes and her own personal journey with the condition.
Students had a plethora of questions for Dr Besser, from how she achieves a work/life balance to her thoughts on diabetes care in the United States.
Raahi, Year 13 commented:
“Hearing Rachel speak about how diabetes has inspired her and spurred her on to do incredible things while also fulfilling her passion to help children with the disease, was an amazing experience. She didn’t let setbacks determine who she was and the fact that she put this energy into making a difference for other people was so inspiring.”
Thank you for delivering such an inspiring and engaging session Dr Besser!
