We were thrilled to host a scrimmage event for the FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) on Wednesday 4 December 2024. The event brought together robotics teams from across the UK for an exciting day of innovation, friendly competition and hands on learning.
The scrimmage was part of the global FIRST Tech Challenge programme, which aims to inspire young people to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). Participants had the opportunity to design, build and programme robots to perform specific tasks in a dynamic competition environment. The event provided a platform for students to showcase their skills and creativity while working collaboratively in teams.
In addition to the competition, participants heard from a recent alum of the programme who has successfully transitioned to university, as well as from Oxford Dynamics, a local company pioneering Artificial Intelligence technology that enables machines to think like humans. These insights helped inspire the next generation of engineers and innovators.
