Our Sustainable School

5 August 2025

Our Year 1 & 2 upcyclers have officially turned junk into joy in their final week’s Upcycling Club! 🧃🎨
Think avant-garde cereal box castles.

Not just a Sustainable School – this is ART.

…Alright it’s a sustainable school too. There are so many ways we’re working towards making our school more sustainable each term.

We incorporate (though, not relying on) iPads into our lessons to reduce paper waste; we ensure lights are off before they’re on; we walk to the senior school as much as possible (OK, the littler the legs, the harder it becomes so we do have to use buses for pre-prep); not long from now will we pre-prep and prep are a united school which means less buses and more incorporated space; Tree planting in spare spaces around the school. This is as well as our multiple green clubs (Upcycling club and The Green Team (and Mini Green Team).

And this isn’t just the half of it. Our Future Ready Programme which encourages more and more outdoor activities.

We love teaching the girls and inspiring them to come up with their own ideas on how to keep our school sustainable from outdoor learning to Earth Studies (which is predominantly group led to encourage independent thinking and debating ideas rather than being told).

Upcycling Club is just one of the extra curricular activities as part of our sustainable programme and is a FANTASTIC place to encourage this and we continue to dig deeper… (sustainably, of course).
