This term, our Head of Mathematics Rachel Burton decided to take on a new challenge outside of the mathematical sphere. As part of the Shakespeare Schools Festival, she directed, with Steph Masterson from the English Dept., a Year 10 cast in King Lear performing to great acclaim to a paying audience at the North Wall Arts Centre in Oxford. The Festival is the UK’s largest youth drama festival and enables over 1,000 primary, secondary, and special schools to stage abridged Shakespeare productions. The Oxford High students were praised for their extraordinary grasp of complex prose and their mature and moving performances.
