The Junior School celebrated their love of books this month. Girls dressed as their favourite character from a book, staff dressed as crayons! We welcomed author Cas Lester who ran several events throughout the day; Reception were joined by some of their parents and asked ‘is it a story?’ – a range of different books were discussed from puzzle books to traditional fiction. Year 1 and 2 were given a ‘Fun Fact Challenge’ and found out about lots of different animals. Year 3 and 4 enjoyed challenging Cas with their ‘Fact or Fiction Challenge’ and it was a ‘Wizardy Writing’ workshop that gave Years 5 and 6 a chance to be creative. In addition all the girls put their creative talents to work in an activity inspired by the books The Day the Crayons Quit and it’s sequel, The Day the Crayons Came Home. FOxHS also helped us celebrate by running a Book Bonanza where children could purchase second hand books for just 50p and also a cake sale – donations of books and cakes were wonderful. Thank you to everyone who supported this special day.
