On Thursday 23rd May, the curtain rose on the Year 12 production of ‘In Juliet’s Garden’. This lively one-act comedy by Judith Elliot McDonald was brought to life by the talented Year 12 students under the direction of Chloe W, a Year 12 Drama Scholar.
The play, which whimsically imagines a meeting between Shakespeare’s most famous heroines in Juliet Capulet’s garden, provided the perfect platform for the students to showcase their acting and directing skills. The company brought a fresh, energetic perspective to the classic characters, while maintaining the charm and wit of McDonald’s original script.
The performance captivated the audience from the very first scene. Each actress embodied her character with confidence and flair, drawing the audience into the humorous and often poignant interactions between Juliet, Ophelia, Desdemona and Cleopatra. The set, designed to resemble an enchanting Elizabethan garden, was meticulously crafted, enhancing the immersive experience. The Year 12 Company’s performance of ‘In Juliet’s Garden’ was a resounding success, a testament to the hard work and creativity of everyone involved.
