Today, our Year 10 students came together to watch a live interview with GDST alumna, Afua Hirsch, organised and run by Wimbledon High School.
In the hour-long interview, conducted by Wimbledon’s Head, Ms Fionnuala Kennedy, we heard about Afua’s varied and impressive career, which has included working as a barrister and a stint in international development. Nowadays, she works primarily as a writer and broadcaster, known for exploring themes of race, identity and belonging in her work. It was truly inspiring to hear her speak openly about these issues and the interview received a hearty round of applause from our Year 10s.
